Exhibition of three
The Slovak National Museum – Bojnice Castle Museum invites all visitors to a unique exhibition that combines the world of journalism with artistic creation. The exhibition, which will take place in the historic Bojnice Castle, will present the works of three creators – Tatiana Michalková, Marián Michalko and Jozef Fab, who are also 3 members of one family.
Tatiana Michalková, editor of the Plus1den daily, will exhibit her acrylic paintings inspired by nature and fascination with water bodies. In his work, he focuses on depicting the movement of water, the calm surface of the lake and the majestic mountains.
“I am fascinated by the sea, its movement, the calm surface of the lake in which the nature around is reflected, the flowing rivers. Also high mountains with snow-covered peaks and silence. This is represented by the old houses in my paintings. New houses don’t appeal to me, they don’t have a story or a soul,” says the painter.
The exhibition also includes a series of her paintings “A World Without People”, where she depicts an apocalyptic world in which only animals and abandoned ships or trains remain.
Marián Michalko, who has worked as a journalist in the media for years, will present his poems, which were created under the influence of music and personal perception of the world. His verses are characterized by an informal style and innovative approaches to the word.
He says with a laugh that he was inspired to write by the Congress of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, which he watched on television. “They were reading a poem there and everyone applauded it terribly. I liked it immensely and I also wanted someone to applaud me like that, so I said to myself that I would be a poet.”
Jozef Fabo, a photographer and journalist for the daily newspaper Nový Čas, has focused on capturing the lives of homeless people and children in Roma settlements during his career. At the exhibition, he will also present his macro photographs, which capture fascinating details of the world.”I’m interested in the world of macro photography, when I take a close-up photo of an object and suddenly it takes on a completely different dimension and I also see what was previously hidden from the human eye. Macro photography has fascinating colors, objects have shapes that one does not even notice at a normal glance,” says the photographer.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 25.1.2025 and will last until 31.3.2025. Visitors can look forward to an exceptional combination of various artistic disciplines that will bring a new perspective on the world around us. The exhibition will be an opportunity to discuss the connection between media and art, how personal experiences influence creation and how artistic expression can reflect social themes.
The exhibition is realized as part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the museum.
